June Garden Tips

ü     Plant your vegetable garden early in the month.  Make sure to keep soil evenly moist to encourage germination.
ü     Transplant tomatoes and peppers into the vegetable garden.  Harden-off tender transplants before planting or plant in the evening when it is cool.  Water with diluted Root Stimulator after transplanting.
ü     Use Spinosad dust on cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower to rid vegetables of cabbage lopper worms or us row covers to protect plants from these pests.
ü     Hoe small weeds in the morning and let the afternoon sun dry them up.
ü     Plant tender annuals such as marigolds.
ü     Fertilize roses with Systemic Rose and Flower Care Rose food.
ü     Prune flowering shrubs (such as lilacs) after bloom.
ü     Tender aquatic plants (water hyacinths, water lettuce, etc.) can be added to your pond now.
ü     Fertilize water lilies and marginals with Aquatic Pond Tabs.
ü     Continue to feed fish.  Check pumps and filters periodically to make sure they are clean and working properly.

  1. Thanks for following my blog! I am glad to see so many people getting into preparedness now. I guess it took some disasters to bring it to their attention.
